How this website handles information

The Estavo website may process information when visitors leave comments, upload media, use cookies, view embedded third-party content, request a password reset or register for an account.

01

Who we are

Our website address is https://estavo.co.uk .

02

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, together with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address, also called a hash, may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use that service.

The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at Automattic’s privacy page .

After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible publicly in connection with your comment.

03

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data, including EXIF GPS information.

Visitors to the website may be able to download images and extract location data contained within those files.

Remove location metadata where appropriate

Check images before uploading them where embedded location information could identify a property or individual.

04

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the site, you may choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These cookies are provided for convenience so you do not need to enter the same information again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies may be created to save your login information and screen-display choices.

Login cookies

Login cookies normally last for two days.

Display settings

Screen-options cookies normally last for one year.

Remember Me

If selected, login access may persist for two weeks.

Signing out

Login cookies are removed when you log out.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie may be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

05

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images or articles.

Embedded content from another website behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited that website directly.

Those websites may collect information about you, use cookies, include additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

This may include tracking your interaction where you have an account with that third-party website and are logged in to it.

06

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the password-reset email.

07

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows follow-up comments to be recognised and approved automatically instead of being held in a moderation queue.

For users who register on the website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile.

Users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time, except that usernames cannot be changed. Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

08

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file containing the personal data we hold about you, including information you have provided.

You can also request that we erase personal data we hold about you.

This does not include information that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Submit a privacy request

Contact support@estavo.co.uk and provide enough non-sensitive information for the relevant account or website activity to be identified.

09

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
